Visual Art

Visitors to Provincetown find quality art, entertainment, cuisine, and nature activities in abundance, although a few of our favorite offerings happen to be steps from our door in the East End.

Given our location in the heart of the Gallery District, art lovers may explore dozens of venues presenting an extraordinary array of styles and mediums. The ptown “Gallery Stroll” takes place in the high season on Friday nights. Most gallery doors where stay open later into the evening, allowing you to leisurely stroll through some of the neighborhood gems. Some of our favorites include:

Of course, art enthusiasts should plan a visit to the Provincetown Art Association & Museum (PAAM), located just around the corner from the Inn at Cook Street. The PAAM was established in 1914 by a group of artists and townspeople to build a permanent collection of works by artists of outer Cape Cod, and to exhibit art that would allow for unification within the community.

Live Performance

  • Provincetown Theater: Formed in 2001 in Provincetown, in the birthplace of American theater, the primary purpose of The Provincetown Theater Foundation (“PTF”) is to encourage, promote, and sustain the performing arts on Outer Cape Cod through a year-round schedule of programming at the Provincetown Theater. The PTF provides performance and educational space for theatrical artists within the Outer Cape Cod community and beyond.

  • Twenty Summers: Hosting live discussions and music events.
